UltimateDefrag is the ultimate defragger and File Placement
Optimizer. Defragging hard drives helps to restore your hard drive
performance. File placement optimizing on the other hand, boosts
your theoretical hard drive file access performance by up to 300%
of manufacturers quoted averages (typical performance increase
you'll experience is between 25 and 100%) by placing the files you
want performance from onto the faster performing (outer tracks)
areas of your hard drive. With UltimateDefrag - you can specify
which individual files, programs or games you want the best
performance from. The "Archive" function places all of your unused
files out of the way and onto the slower performing areas of your
hard drive.


What's new?
1. Improved Fragmented Files Only algorithm so that it finds fragmented files in Logical Cluster Number order. This results in this method actually improving contiguity of data since lower LCNs are made available first to place files as they are defragmented.

2. Added ability to defrag a single file only. This is accessed by clicking on a "red" fragmented file in the cluster analysis list after analysis. This option is added to the fly-out box. Useful for when you just want to defrag a particular file.

3. Added ability to defrag all fragmented files in a particular folder only. This is accessed by clicking on a file in the cluster analysis list. These options are added to the fly-out box. Useful for when you have just installed a new program which often results in significant fragmentation of the files just installed.

4. Added respect layout.ini to AUTO defrag method further improving optimization result of this one-click method.

5. Added "Estimated Time To Completion" for a particular defrag run to main GUI. User note: The figure indicated is only an estimate and can take a while to stabilize after the defrag run is commenced.

6. Plus (+) and Minus (-) keys on keypad will zoom the disk cluster size in and out.

7. Added additional information to GUI to display cluster per block and megabytes per block according to the block zoom factor on the disk display.

8. Added ability change the color of the intrablock space further enabling customization of look and color scheme of disk display.

9. Volume Info => Statistics - added more information e.g. number of excess fragments

10. When clicking on a block on the disk display the cluster analysis list shows which cluster numbers are selected.
